The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), considered an axis of politics in Bihar, has been lacking for party founder Lalu Prasad Yadav. In such a situation, the challenge is to save the party’s fort in Jharkhand in front of the party leaders. After the creation of separate Jharkhand state from Bihar, RJD has been identified as a strong party here, but due to the absence of Lalu Yadav, the party is now facing problems.
Keep in mind that in this assembly election, the RJD has once again entered the electoral fray in full force with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress. RJD is contesting seven seats with the alliance this time. The party has fielded its candidates from Hussainabad, Chatra, Chhatarpur, Koderma, Barkatha, Deoghar and Godda.
In 1995, it won 14 seats in Jharkhand (then part of the state of Bihar), but the RJD’s base has declined slightly since the formation of Jharkhand. The RJD’s account was not opened in the last election, but there was a Modi wave in the country at that time, which has now completed its age.
A RJD leader says that the party never got the support of the leaders. He said that Annapurna Devi, who was RJD President before the Lok Sabha elections this year, left the party and joined BJP and became an MP from Koderma. Similarly, Girinath Singh left the party and went elsewhere.
But in this election RJD is sweating with full force to bring back his lost ground. The party’s state president Abhay Singh says that in this election, the party has fielded candidates on five such seats, which were occupied by the party in the 2009 elections. Singh also believes that Lalu Prasad’s shortage in this election has been unpalatable. There is no star campaigner like him.
RJD has currently released a list of 40 star campaigners, which also includes Lalu Prasad’s family members. Singh, state president of RJD, says, “The party is missing the star campaigner like Lalu Prasad since the last election. The party has not yet found a leader equal to them. To hear Lalu Prasad in the elections from every section There was a crowd of people. “
In Jharkhand, there was a huge crowd in his election meetings to see Lalu’s fire, whether it was assembly elections or Lok Sabha elections. Lalu Prasad Yadav is currently in a Ranchi jail. And he is admitted to RIMS for health reasons. The party’s leader-activists meet him according to the rules of the jail and decide the strategies, but the leaders and activists feel that Lalu Prasad is not in this election.
