Pakistani troops opened fire on Sunday in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir in violation of the ceasefire in which one civilian was killed and two soldiers were martyred. Police said three civilians were injured in the shootout and two houses were damaged.
Earlier on Friday, Pakistan also violated the ceasefire targeting India’s forward posts and villages along the international border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday (18 October). Pakistan started unprovoked firing in the Manyari-Chorgali area of Hiranagar sector at around 7.30 pm on Friday night, which continued in the night.
The Border Security Force (BSF) had given a reasonable response to this firing. According to officials, there were no casualties in the firing by Pakistan and it was closed the next day on Saturday (October 19) at around four-four in the morning.
