INDvSA: Rohit Sharma’s another blast, smashing a century and breaking the record

Rohit Sharma has scored a brilliant century in the third and last Test match of the series being played between India South Africa at Ranchi’s JSCA Cricket Stadium. After winning the toss and batting first, the Indian team had a poor start and lost their three crucial wickets in the first session. Due to the continuously falling wicket, Rohit changed his aggressive style and started playing according to the state of the game and settled on the pitch.

After lunch, Rohit returned to the ground with his nonchalant style and scored his first half-century and then played fast, making his third in this series and his sixth hundredth of his Test career. Rohit Sharma also took many records of Test cricket to his name, completing a century with a six.

This is Rohit’s sixth Test century and this is his third century as an opener, all three in this series. With this century, Rohit became the second Indian opener to score 100 or more runs in a series. Earlier, veteran Sunil Gavaskar did this feat. He scored a century or more in three different series three times.

Rohit has beaten everyone in the matter of hitting sixes in the Test series. Before Rohit, West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer had the record for most sixes in a Test series. Who hit 15 sixes in the series against Bangladesh. The Indian player who hit the most sixes in a Test series before Rohit was Harbhajan Singh, who hit 14 sixes in the 2010–11 series against New Zealand. Rohit has hit 16 sixes in the current series so far.

Indian batsmen who have completed a century with a six

Rohit Sharma landed in the Test opening for India for the first time in this series against South Africa. He scored 176 runs in the first innings of the first Test (which was played in Visakhapatnam), while scoring 127 runs in the second innings. The century in Ranchi is the sixth century of Rohit’s Test career. He faced 130 balls for a century, while hitting 13 fours and 4 sixes. Rohit completed the 100th run with six.

Third century in the series, also completed 400 runs

As soon as he completed a century by hitting a six, so did 2000 runs in his Test. This is Rohit’s third century in the series.
